Global PRO Challenge Concept

The Global PRO Finalists 2019 (10 teams) together with our competition partners.

Every year, professional teams from hundreds of companies all around the world go through public supply chain management trainings with the business simulation game The Fresh Connection. The unique learning experience people go through in The Fresh Connection is built on experiential learning and given it’s track record (e.g. 40% of Fortunes’ top 100 manufacturers), it can be considered a proven concept.

The idea is that teams of four take on four management roles: supply chain, operations, sales and purchasing. The teams are then challenged to make the best strategic and tactical choices to save a virtual manufacturing company, The Fresh Connection, from financial ruin. The public training sessions are organized by our Challenge Partners and are a meaningful learning experiences in their own right.

For teams who want to go for the extra mile and benchmark their Value Chain Management skills against the best in the world, we organize the yearly Global PRO Challenge. Here we pit teams from across the globe against each other. Only the best progress to the Global Final where they battle for the World Champion title of Supply Chain Management and an ExecEd SCM course at MIT!

All editions of the Challenge have a supply chain theme. Some themes from recent years are: Constrained Capacity, Carbon Footprint, Strategic and Functional Alignment (S&OP), Supply Chain Resilience, and more!

The theme of the Global PRO Challenge 2021 was Supply Chain Resilience. Teams who joined the challenge faced a specific setup in which they had to manage a supply chain in a way that it is prepared for the unexpected.

Every year the highlight of the Global PRO Challenge is the battle for the world champion title in the Global PRO Final!

The best performing teams from the Global PRO Challenge gather online for the Global PRO Final. This is where the battle really begins and you can benchmark your skills against the best in the world!

In 2020 and 2021, we hosted the Global PRO Final fully online due to the pandemic. Watch the video to get an impression of this novel event which took place in an immersive 3D online environment. In 2022 we will go virtual again and try to improve the immersive experience even further!
