GPC 2017

GPC 2017

The 2017 Finals of the 7th Global Final of The Fresh Connection were held on the Iberian penisula, in Lisbon, Portugal. More than 1,000 participants, representing over 300 companies from 60+ countries started out in training rounds. From there they went on to Global Challenge rounds to try and become their pools’ best team. 10 teams came out on top and were invited to come to Lisbon and compete in the Global Final.

Already between September 2016 and April 2017 most of the participating teams started with the training rounds. They either took part remotely or attended face-to-face workshops with The Fresh Connection simulation. The training rounds and workshops were about major supply chain learning topics. Being high quality trainings in their own right, these rounds provided true learning value to any participating team and individual. As extras, teams that performed exceptionally well, could continue training: first of all participation in the TFC Global Challenge rounds between April 2017 and June 2017. Second, for the 11 teams that were the best of their country, a free trip to the TFC Global Final in Lisbon, Portugal on September 28, 2017. And to top it off, a prize for the TFC Global Final winner: an Executive Education SCM Course at MIT in Cambridge, MA, USA.

After four nail-bitingly exciting rounds, in which the top positions changed a number of times, a team made up of four individuals, that had never met in real life until the day before the final, won! We called them the United Nations team because it had members from Italy, Brazil, Colombia and El Salvador. They proved to be best team of all, and so they became TFC Global Final Champion of 2017.

The United Nations team members:

  • Andrea Tretti
  • Aaron Ramos Reyes
  • Ivan Rogério Gameiro Roumeliotis
  • Carlos Mira

We hope to see all of you participating to become the 2018 Global Challenge Champion!
