The 2018 Finals of the 8th Global Final of The Fresh Connection took us back to the country where the first ever Global Final was held: Italy. In Milan we were hosted by MIP Politecnico di Milano, and the Milanese university did a splendid job.
In this year’s edition of The Fresh Connection Global Challenge, once again more than 1,000 participants, representing hundreds of companies originating from tens of countries first went through their training rounds. After that initial stage many continued to the Global Challenge rounds doing their best to qualify for the Global Final. In the end, 11 teams made it and they were invited to come to Milan to compete for a prize and eternal glory.
Most teams had gone through their training rounds between September 2017 and April 2018. Across the globe training rounds were delivered with the help of dedicated local partners, who provided remote and/or face-to-face workshops with The Fresh Connection simulation. Whether being part of the Global Challenge or stand alone, the training rounds aim is to provide training value to participating teams and individuals. These training events can be considered to be high quality in their own right. As extras, teams that wished to, continued: first of all by taking part in the TFC Global Challenge rounds between April 2018 and June 2018. Second, for the 11 teams that were the best of their country, a free trip to the TFC Global Final in Milan, Italy on September 28, 2018. And to top it off, a prize for the TFC Global Final winner: an Executive Education SCM Course at MIT in Cambridge, MA, USA.
It took four breath taking rounds, every single round having a different top 3 ranking, before it was known who was the winner of The Fresh Connection Global Final 2018. It is the team from Danone Nutricia Middle East from UAE (Dubai), that takes the crown! They came out on top as the best team of all, and so they deserve the title of TFC Global Final Champion 2018.
