GPC 2015

The 2015 Finals of the 5th Global Final of The Fresh Connection promised to be a very special edition. Since it was a jubileum the final was set to be held in TFC’s home country The Netherlands, and where better than in Amsterdam?

Globally more than 1,000 participants representing close to 300 companies from 30+ countries firstly took the Challenge head on at national level to become their nations’ number 1 team. Eventually 9 teams made it to represent their country and company at the Amsterdam final.

Most of these teams already started the first leg of their TFC journey between September 2014 and April 2015. They attended face-to-face workshops with The Fresh Connection simulation, concerning major supply chain learning topics. Being high quality trainings in their own right, these workshops provide true learning value to any participating team. On top, for teams that performed exceptionally well, bonuses and prizes were to be won: first of all participation in the TFC Global Challenge rounds between May 2015 and June 2015, a period during which hundreds of teams globally competed. Second, a free trip to the TFC Global Final in Amsterdam on September 25, 2015. And last but not least, the prize for the TFC Global Final winner, an SCM Executive Course at MIT in Boston, MA, USA.

So after a nerve wrecking four rounds, where teams’ scores stayed close until the very end, the team from ESSILOR (France) emerged clearly as the TFC Global Final Champion and so they take home the MIT prize.

Runner up is the AB World Foods team from The UK and 2nd runner up is Avery Dennison from Germany. The ranking can be found in the table below.

We sincerely thank all teams for being a part of the TFC Global Challenge 2015. Your dedication and motivation has made this Global Challenge the very special edition we planned for. We are already looking ahead to next year’s Challenge, more news will follow in the near future. One thing we can already announce publicly: in 2016 the Global Final will take place in a city located on the Atlantic coast in southeastern Florida, USA, also nicknamed the “Magic City”: MIAMI.
